For mankind to live victoriously, and reign with Christ eternally, he is expected to avoid pitfalls that may hinder his resolve. God’s word is the manual for us to follow. It states the do’s and dont’s in a simple yet forceful way. Reason? Going against it will plunge one in regretful situations.
There is great parallelism between God’s word and road signs traffic lights. Think for a minute what would happen to you if you ignored them. It would be catastrophic to sat the least. Similarly, when God’s word says ‘DON’T’, the results of going against it will be lethal and will hinder you from either ‘enjoying your everyday life’ or getting the ultimate prize. The do’s equally guide us to exploring more of God’s incomparable beauties of his blessings unto us. I cannot agree more with the psalmist when he says:
Psalms 119:11-12 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. Blessed [are] You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes.
and that
Psalms 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
My advise to each one of us is to love the word of God and live it. Closely let us go back to this manual every time we are making a decision. Study it and allow it to shape your actions and thinking, and you will never regret. Hate what God hates, love what he loves & celebrate what He celebrates.
Remember: He has created us in his own image, and this manual guides us to be as He is.
