Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 2:10-11 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
Hebrews 2:14-15 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
As we approach God in prayer, we are coming to a throne; a throne of grace and mercy. This is the picture we should all have. He who sits there is Christ himself. He is our brother, even clever than our brothers, who is ready to help us in every way. He has passed all we pass through and has emerged victorious even without sin. He has been where we are, He understands our weaknesses, and He can offer our prayers to God in a better way than we do. And so friends,
we can overcome death as He overcame
sickness as He carried our infirmities
sorrow as He became a man of sorrows
captivity as He went into captivity and made it captive
every temptation as He was tempted in every way yet without sin
rejection as He was rejected
abuse as He was abused
physical, social and psychological attacks as He did
false accusations as He was falsely accused
labelling as He was labelled
make it to heaven as He is already there
… and the list goes on.
It doesn’t matter where we currently are, He was there and overcame, and He is ready to show us mercy and give us grace to overcome just as He did.
Lets tell Him that we are sorry where we let Him down. and BOLDLY ACCEPT HIS GRACE AND MERCY FROM JESUS OUR LORD AND BROTHER. We need to have this picture in our minds when we come to Him. He supplies my grace to conquer all in His name
