PRAYER FOR THE NATION OF KENYA AS WE APPROACH THE GENERAL ELECTIONS 2012-2013

(You can use these prayers to pray for any other nation)

This is an urgent call to students in Kenya and any other interested person to come together to stand in the gap for this nation as we move towards the elections. We request and challenge each one to set EVERY FRIDAY dubbed the BLEESED FRIDAY to pray for this nation as an individual and also in our Christian unions. The C.U patrons or Christian teachers can download and print the sample prayer below for students’ use.

WHY PRAY FOR KENYA?

  • God requires us to pray for our leaders, our nation and our people. 1Tim 2:1-4
  • It is only God who can build us and who can securely protect us. Ps 127:1-2
  • God counts it as a sin if we don’t pray for him to intercede. He is always waiting for us to call him for he will do nothing if we won’t pray. 1Sam 12:23, Isa 65:1
  • We release a lot of power when we pray in unity. A thousand flees at the threat of one, ten thousand at the threat of two, at the threat of five, they all flee till they are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop. Isa 30:17
  • If we shall come before the Lord as one people, then nothing shall be impossible for us. Gen 11:6
  • The effectual fervent (unceasing/passionate) prayers of the righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

So welcome you to the BLESSED FRIDAY’S prayer network. Let us look to every Friday as a day that the LORD GOD is calling us to him to seek him so as to bless us. Pass this information to as many C.U patrons, born again Christian teachers, students, Christian ministers etc as you can. You can consider to use the prayer points below, or add others as the Holy Spirit shall guide you. God bless you as we jointly seek the face of the Lord. Let us approach his throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive his mercy and grace (Hebrews 4:16).

  • We thank you for you have been our refuge, our protection, our help and our provider. Gen 22:14, Ps 1:6, Ps 121:2

Prayer unlimited, a.k.a p-unltd is a prayer movement composed of students in schools and colleges in Kenya and beyond. It’s main task is to mobilize students in schools and colleges to participate in common united and coordinated prayers to see a revolution for Christ in our generation.

Why should students pray?
The youth today, comprised mainly of students in our schools and colleges are undergoing many challenges, many of which never used to be there before. To name but a few, we have Drugs and substance abuse, HIV & Aids, sexual perversion and all forms of immorality (homosexuality, lesbianism, fornication, rape etc), pornography, lack of jobs, divorce among parents, pressure from parents and society to excel, corruption, tribalism, injustice, strikes, Devil worship / being recruited to the occult – the list is endless. This is leaving many disillusioned and many are making many uninformed choices.

Many avenues are being sought to counter the above – guidance and counseling being one of the highly recommended. the avenues being used achieve very little. The problem we have is a spiritual problem and can well be tackled through spiritual means, before embarking on other means. There are principalities to be fought, wicked powers to be destroyed, strongholds to be pulled down, wicked foundations to be uprooted, rulers of darkness in our present generation to drive away and intercession needed for God to bring healing in our nation. We need to know that only God can watch over us, and build us, otherwise our work shall be in vain. Unless we turn to God, things will turn from bad to worse.

The solution we have today is to turn to God and pray. We need to take advantage of the fact thatwe have freedom to meet and pray, this freedom may not be there some twenty or thirty years to come as it is the case with some states in the U.S. today. If something will not be done, our generation will be crushed by the Devil. We pray it will not happen. We need to come together in unity more than any other time in the History of this Great nation. We would wish to have a bright future, wherever we shall be working or whatever we shall be doing. this the time to plant into your bright future is today, the method is through prayer.

The Youth as the Bible indicates are a strong group of people. It is easy and wise to tap this strength and use it for God’s glory. If we can return to God,humble ourselves, seek His face, forsake our wicked ways, then pray, God will hear us and heal our land. The Bible states the the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much.

This is an appeal to students all over this nation to partner together to pray. Our problems will not be solved by politicians. We need God to destroy the power that controls them for them to be effective, that’s why we need to pray for them. Only God can end corruption in Kenya. I dont know whether this thing called corruption angers you as it does to me, you need to pray! Corruption in our country is deeper than you may think. It is virtually impossible for a Christian to operate some businesses today without giving a bribe, which is a sin. surely, this is not God’s will. It is also very difficult to work in some offices if you are not corrupt, and unless God intervenes, things will be very very difficult in future. We are moving towards a lawless society controlled by Gangs, composed of our today’s youth, which will be very difficult for us and our children to live in. But there is HOPE in the Lord, He makes a way where there is no way.

What will happen if we come together as a united body to pray? The bible states that one person will chase one thousand, two people are able to chase ten thousand, five people will cause the enemy to flee away, till they are left like a flagstaff on a mountain top, like a banner on a hill [Isa 30:17; Josh 20:10; Deut 32:30]. This is the mathematics God uses. What ten people can achieve in united prayer in five minutes will take you (one person) almost a year to achieve. one person can push a bike, but not a van. you need more to push a lorry. you will take hours pushing a van in a short distance, but if you were twenty, you need more people to do it quite fast. what do i mean? You need me, I need you, we need one another. The devil knows this and that’s why he fights prayer and unity in the church. Unity is strength. When the tower of babel was being built, God came to see and these were His words “If as one people, speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan will be impossible for them .. “Gen 11:5-7. So He scattered them. If you, and I, and the many other students we have in this country will accept this call, then nothing shall be difficult for us. God is always waiting for us to seek Him and them He will do. We are the people to move His hand.

We appeal to you to partner with us and the many other students in this nation to pray. Remember you are not alone. We believe God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what ask or imagine [Eph 3:20], this is the PRAYER UNLIMITED. Imagine what will happen if we all come before the Lord on Friday for example, from Lamu to Mandera, Kisumu to Liboi and pray for young the youth in this nation, crying to God to have mercy on us, repenting on their behalf, and crushing the powers that bind them. What do you think will happen? We shall experience a new dawn in our nation.

Let us set time every day to come together for prayer in our schools/colleges and with one voice cry unto God. Let’s hold hands as a sign of unity and believe we shall see a mighty change in the areas listed below. Let us violently arise and take what the devil has stolen from us [Matt 11:12]. Jesus said “Again I say unto you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done to them by my father who is in heaven”. Matt 18:19.
Please join us to pray for the following areas:
Monday – Your school/college
Tuesday – Born again members/your christian union
Wednesday – Our families/families in Kenya
Thursday – Our country & any other country God will lead you to
Friday – Young people/youth in our nation
Saturday – Neighboring schools/colleges
Sunday – The church in Kenya and the world, KSCF and FOCUS

NB. These are not the only things you can pray for. You should also include what the Lord shall direct you to. For the purpose of unity, please follow this program and you will be sure you are praying in unity with thousands of students all over this nation. Always hold hands and conclude in agreement. Get time to humble yourself in prayer and fasting at least three times a month. you can comfortably do it once a week – this is not only good for your spiritual nourishment but also for your physical body.
