The mandate that Christ gave us when he lived amongst us was to witness to others about him. Some Christians however find it difficult to share Christ. Some of the reasons may include:

1. Fear

2. Lack of knowledge of how to go about it

3. Lack of desire

4. Lack of an opportunity to share

We have opportunities always presented to us by the Holy Spirit to tell others about Christ. I know many of the readers would really wish to share the gospel of Jesus to others. Here is a one minute witness plan you can use (Developed by Oasis World Ministries,  www. Oneminutewitness.org).

1.Permission- After creating a rapport with the person you want to talk to,  ask him or her whether he can allow you to ask him/ her a question

a. May I ask you a question, what is the best thing that ever happened to you? Let him/her respond

b.  May I share the best thing that’s ever happened to me?

2. Describe your lifebefore Christ. Share your testimony.  Use adjectives like I was fearful,  hopeless etc

3. Describe your turning point. Mention how you met Jesus and how he changed your life

4. Describe your life after meeting Jesus.

5. State how your life would be without Christ.  “If I had never met Christ… ”

Voila! You have shared Christ in a minute. You can lead the person to Christ if he wishes, answer the questions he/she has or exchange contacts to talk later.

Always ask the Holy Spirit to give you an opportunity to share your testimony to others. He has many people he can lead you to. Your testimony is for Christ’s glory. Use it to serve God. What a joy it is to share what Christ has done to you

If you lead the person to Christ,  point to him to

1. Read the Bible daily

2. Pray daily

3. Join a Bible believing church to attend weekly

Flame-hearted Men Are The Crying Need Of The Hour!( adapted from HERALD OF HIS COMING)

By Leonard Ravenhill

Men aflame are needed for this midnight hour. The Flame of the living God became the Flame of the human heart to the glorious company in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. The church began with men in the upper room – agonizing, and is ending with them in the supper room – organizing. The church began in revival, it is ending in ritual. It started virile, it is ending sterile. The charter members of the church were men of heat and no degrees, the church ends with many holding degrees, but no heat!

Ah, brethren, Flame-hearted men are the crying need of the hour! Men to be a pillar of fire. God-guided men to lead a misguided people. Passionate Pauls to stir timid Timothies. Men of Flame to outshine and outburn men of name. We need knights of prayer to lead nights of prayer. We need true prophets to warn of false profits. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

The cry is, “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly…Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep…” (Joel 2:15-17).

Inspired men are desperately needed! Believers with Spirit-generated souls are indispensable to this degenerate generation. The gale of end-time iniquity will blow out mere human flame.

The wise will understand. Be alarmed! The conflict gets stiffer! This is the night of blight and plight. Was there ever such an evil hour? Reiterated effort is the price we have to pay for progress. As the church goes, so goes the world!

Genesis  24:60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said to her, You are our sister, be you the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
Every Country, city, home or neighborhood has gates. Gates are both entry as well as exit points. Whoever controls the gates controls the city. This is greatly realised during time of war in the physical realms.

The Bible records that Christians are at war.  Contemporary English Version records in Ephesians 6:12 that “We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.”

Many homes,  communities,  cities and the like have their gates controlled by wicked powers. These oppress and intimidate those within.  Do you know that as a born again Christian you can control whatever happens where God has placed you.  God has given each one of us power and authority to control the gates and cities where we live in for wherever the soles of our feet tread, God gives us that land. God told Joshua in Joshua 1:3 that Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses

We are ordained as Kings and priests and wherever we are we should act like the masters.  The enemy knows it but won’t give it up if we don’t arise and control whatever happens where we are.

The enemy will try to fight back, when taking such lands for the Lord,  just as it happens in the physical realms. His resistance and weapons, however,  are not as deadly as the ones in our arsenal.  We arise and take it by force.  Jesus told his disciples, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18. Gates of wickedness or wickedness will try to control the Church but we are to prevail against them.  A believer can do this in spiritual warfare or in corporate prayers.  The battle intensifies with the expanse of the area covered. David knew this kind of warfare,  he would call upon the name of the lord to intervene.

Psalms 24:7-8 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of Glory shall come in. Who is this King of Glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle.

As done in the physical realms, the best strategy would be to bind the strong man and destroy him,  then destroy the gates of the enemies and their cities. You can do so by declaring by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus you are possessing and destroying the gates of your enemies in your neighborhood etc.  Advance and destroy their cities,  hiding places, altars and their foundations. Declare you are taking them for God. Declare you are establishing new gates,  gates of righteousness with the angels of God guarding them. Welcome the King of glory to enter and take over. It is important to survey where you are and destroy the enemy’s exit and entry points that have been established through evil altars and foundations. God wants to come to your family,  your neighbourhood, city, nation, institution etc welcome him. A pious attitude, stand,  or titles cannot change this; it takes a man or woman of God who knows that he or she has been anointed by God at a time like this to destroy evil establishments and welcome Christ where we stay. Stop complaining about the problems in your locality, for you have the solution. A lion will be ruled by Hyena’s until the day he will arise and roar as the king of the jungle,  then every other animal will take cover.

You are Abraham’s children by faith

It is your time to arise!

THE WORD OF GOD

KEY TEXT:Luke 8:5-8
“A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

In trying to explain about the kingdom of God, Jesus told the above parable to the multitude. Later he explained it’s meaning to his disciples since they couldn’t decipher it’s meaning. How do you take the Word of God?

The Word of God is living and active.  It’s not just any ordinary word.  In it,  mysteries and secrets of the kingdom of God are revealed by the Holy Spirit.  It makes a simple person wiser. The devil knows this too well and is always ready to steal it from an unsuspecting or careless Christian.  He works hard to provide a climate that will choke it to die.  God’s plan for his word is to bring change – a long lasting one.  Hearing it is hearing from God.  As such we should treasure it and guard it. Thanks to the Holy Spirit who helps us to provide an enabling climate for it to grow to maturity. I find these declarations

just too good to wish away any time I’m reading God’s word.
Thank you father for your Word.

You have chosen to speak to me through it.

I believe and declare that it shall not rot,  wither or die away.

The Spirit of God is providing an enabling environment for it to grow

This Word shall change me and others around me.

It shall accomplish God’s plan for me

It shall bear fruits: 30 fold,  60 fold even 100 fold

Through it I will understand the mysteries and secrets of God

The Spirit of God shall hide it in me and will remind me always

I choose to hide it in my heart so that I won’t sin against you

I will be what it says I am

I will do what it says I can do

I believe this with all my heart.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Let the scripture speak.

James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
How bad it is for God to resist you in prayer or service.  Regardless of your position,  if you are walking in pride,  strive,  seeking more of early praise,  God will not listen to you.  He cannot share his glory with man.    Try the prayers below, with utmost sincerity :
That you may increase as I decrease

That you may receive glory in all I do

That you may help me not to think I’m standing on my own,  that you may hold me not to fall

That at the end of the day it shall be about you in me and us

That I may be a servant, not lord over others

That I may help others complete, better than myself

That I shall not be blinded by praise of men,  but that their praise to me shall be relocated to you

That I shall have a teachable spirit

That I shall recognise the beauty,  strength and contribution of others

That I shall not boast or pride over my accomplishments,  they are yours o Lord

That I shall be ready and willing always to be guided by your Spirit

That I shall not look down upon others because of their seeming lack

I shall endeavour to make the church of Christ great, one

I praise your name o God because the good work you have began in my life you will accomplish in Christ Jesus

We are in the last days,  no question about this. We are living at a very challenging time in the body of Christ. Wickedness has increased tremendously. The church is slowly losing relevance as it has compromised. Many of God’s servants are walking defeated lives. Our children, families, governments,  courts, politics and economy are threatened. We are crossing fingers because we fear the worst will happen,  yet are doing nothing about it. We are in bondage and captivity,  in chains and darkness. We have fought and are now tired. We have given up or are giving up.

This scenario can be compared with one that happened during prophet Habakkuk’s time.  There was idolatry, immorality,  injustice,  treachery, and general oppression to the people.  His heart was sick at what he experienced in his everyday life.

When battles are at fever pitch, we need to move a notch higher and use better weaponry. We also need seasoned fighters.  Habakkuk sat down and it his memory rekindled God’s great happenings in the past.  Habakkuk 3 is a story reminiscing God’s great deeds in the past. Take note that God responded by doing battle in three places: the waters,  heavens and the land.  That is where battles are done even in our physical world. After reading carefully this I identify with its relevance to our generation and see the importance of crying out with habakkuk “..do it again lord in our generation”. for who is better equipped to fight for us than the lord of Hosts?  He says that the battle belongs to him.

Let the watchmen and prayer warriors in our generation repent on behalf of the church,  then arise and make this cry: “O LORD our God,  rend the heavens and come down,  deliver us,  save us,  revive us for we are down,  restore us back to you and your purposes for us.” He will tear down the mountains,  gates, chains,  captivity and all wickedness released upon us.  Let us keenly read the verses below and pray them out until they are part of us,  let us celebrate as we receive by faith god’s judgement upon our enemies in spiritual places.

Habakkuk 3:2-19 LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed— but he marches on forever. I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish. Were you angry with the rivers, LORD? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode your horses and your chariots to victory? You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. You split the earth with rivers; the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear. In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding. You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
ASK GOD TO DO IT AGAIN

Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 2:10-11 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.

Hebrews 2:14-15 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

As we approach God in prayer, we are coming to a throne; a throne of grace and mercy. This is the picture we should all have. He who sits there is Christ himself. He is our brother, even clever than our brothers, who is ready to help us in every way. He has passed all we pass through and has emerged victorious even without sin. He has been where we are, He understands our weaknesses, and He can offer our prayers to God in a better way than we do. And so friends,
we can overcome death as He overcame
sickness as He carried our infirmities
sorrow as He became a man of sorrows
captivity as He went into captivity and made it captive
every temptation as He was tempted in every way yet without sin
rejection as He was rejected
abuse as He was abused
physical, social and psychological attacks as He did
false accusations as He was falsely accused
labelling as He was labelled
make it to heaven as He is already there
… and the list goes on.
It doesn’t matter where we currently are, He was there and overcame, and He is ready to show us mercy and give us grace to overcome just as He did.

Lets tell Him that we are sorry where we let Him down. and BOLDLY ACCEPT HIS GRACE AND MERCY FROM JESUS OUR LORD AND BROTHER. We need to have this picture in our minds when we come to Him. He supplies my grace to conquer all in His name

Isaiah 45:3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call [thee] by thy name, [am] the God of Israel.

John 15:7-11 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Jesus is calling us to a deeper relationship. He wants to show and help us experience treasures that are hidden in secret places. He is calling us to treasures of His love, peace, joy, humility, righteousness, unity, wisdom, knowledge, revelations, understanding, meekness, grace, peace, divine victory, holiness, faith, purity among others. It is a place where He sheds us off self righteousness, condemnation, bondage, yokes, burdens, self centeredness, pride, lust, covetousness, busy bodying, back biting,  disunity, despair, fear, self worth etc.
He leads us to this sacred place of His treasures. Treasures are never found easily or in the open, you must work to get them. In Christ however, You just need to surrender and desire Him alone. Seek to find Him, ask Him to give you grace to seek Him. As we abide in Him and Him in us, we start getting changed to this wonderful glory.
Lets desire to journey and partake of these treasurers. The more we draw nearer to His heart the more the treasure and glory, and the more He will glorify in us. This is a place where we see ourselves as unworthy and the worst of sinners were it not for His grace. It is a place where He alone receives glory from whatever we do while in these earthly vessels. It is a place where we start seeing through His eyes of love, hearing through Him and desiring to see holiness and justice in your life and church. A place we shall know His heart for the fallen world.
May our prayer then always be: Spirit of God, lead me to that place I have never been before where your love flows deeper than the sea.

I have received many comments and questions related to the above after I wrote my first article about porn. I hadn’t known the magnitude this devil had caused in the body of Christ. Many of those who get into porn or masturbation find themselves hooked through satanic addictions which they find quite difficult to come out. I advice those who find themselves hooked into this sin to :

  1. Realize that you are sinning against Christ. Mt 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
  2. Desire to be set free. You are bound. Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
  3. If possible share with a servant of God to be prayed for deliverance. You should be patient for the deliverance can be instantly felt or come gradually.
  4. Never lose hope. You may try to come out and fall back. This does not mean you have lost the battle or you have completely failed. Mic 7:8 Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
  5. You should resist the devil every time you feel an urge. Audibly command any demon of lust or sexual immorality to flee in Jesus name. Try it and you will find it working. However, you need to know that he will come back. The Bible records that satan promised to come back at an opportune time after failing in deceiving Jesus in the wilderness. Still resist him even if he comes 100 times. 1Pe 5:9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world.
  6. Wait upon the Lord. He will renew and strengthen you. Isa 40:31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
  7. Speak life, praise God, dont complain. You will always get what you constantly confess. Pr 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
  8. Fill your heart with the word. Let your heart be good soil for the word to grow. Take time to pray and fast. Drawing close to God has great power to transform your inner man. The closer you are to God the greater the desire to remain holy. Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
  9. Look at the crown of life kept before you. We are in a race, we must be careful in how we run so as to win the race before us and get the crown of life. Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.

Re 2:10 Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

(ASV)

  1. Destroy captivity and every house of bondage in prayer. Speak freedom. De 5:6 I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Declare what Christ has done to us. Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
  2. Make a conscious effort to leave.
  3. Put to death all manner of immorality and lust. Daily declare that you are putting them to death. Col 3:5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you–
(ASV)

CHRIST BE FORMED
How often do you pray for new believers? How often do you pray for your pastor, friend, spouse, child? Many a times we celebrate when one has come to Christ; angels too rejoice in heaven. Jesus compares the idea of salvation with a sower planting seeds which fall in different soils. He says thus:
Mt 13:3-9 And he spake to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went forth to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the birds came and devoured them: and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth: and straightway they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And others fell upon the thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them: and others fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He that hath ears, let him hear.
Any believer is a product of a seed sown (I hope and pray that the reader has been sowing, if not, do it – you must be productive). Different soils and different climatic conditions will play a great part in the growth of this believer regardless of his age and years in salvation.
Paul, writing to the Galatian church helps them understand the passion he has had to see the church growing in the things of God. He call the church “my little children”, meaning that he regards himself to be their father. He further informs them that he has been travailing for them until Christ be born in them. Writing to Thessalonian church he says that his greatest desire is that the church (his hope, joy & glory) be worthy before our Lord Jesus.
That same mind that was in Paul should be ours too. We need to pray consistently that Christ be formed in the life of our dear one. That in all their manners they may be transformed to the image of Christ. Begin it and you will see great difference in their lives. Before you complain about them, put them daily praying Pauline prayers for the church to them- that Christ shall be formed in them, that they may grow in love; that God will give them wisdom, understanding, revelation etc; that they will love the LORD above all else. Travail until this is birthed. Remember, God holds you accountable for those he places near your reach. I was recently jolted by this testimony by Kenneth Hagin where he describes an episode that happened in his life. He had been led to intercede for a certain man but refused to heed the direction the Spirit of God was leading him to. He always thought he would have time to pray for him. After some time the man died, and God showed him through a vision where the man was. He was in hell, screaming and wailing as fire burned him without ceasing. It was a terrifying experience to him indeed. Jesus pointed out to him that He held him (Kenneth) responsible for the death of the man! Reason? He refused to intercede for him. How guilty are we also about the same? May God help us.
Please take the challenge – intercede for Christ to be formed in others.
