Isaiah 45:3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call [thee] by thy name, [am] the God of Israel.

John 15:7-11 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Jesus is calling us to a deeper relationship. He wants to show and help us experience treasures that are hidden in secret places. He is calling us to treasures of His love, peace, joy, humility, righteousness, unity, wisdom, knowledge, revelations, understanding, meekness, grace, peace, divine victory, holiness, faith, purity among others. It is a place where He sheds us off self righteousness, condemnation, bondage, yokes, burdens, self centeredness, pride, lust, covetousness, busy bodying, back biting,  disunity, despair, fear, self worth etc.
He leads us to this sacred place of His treasures. Treasures are never found easily or in the open, you must work to get them. In Christ however, You just need to surrender and desire Him alone. Seek to find Him, ask Him to give you grace to seek Him. As we abide in Him and Him in us, we start getting changed to this wonderful glory.
Lets desire to journey and partake of these treasurers. The more we draw nearer to His heart the more the treasure and glory, and the more He will glorify in us. This is a place where we see ourselves as unworthy and the worst of sinners were it not for His grace. It is a place where He alone receives glory from whatever we do while in these earthly vessels. It is a place where we start seeing through His eyes of love, hearing through Him and desiring to see holiness and justice in your life and church. A place we shall know His heart for the fallen world.
May our prayer then always be: Spirit of God, lead me to that place I have never been before where your love flows deeper than the sea.

I have received many comments and questions related to the above after I wrote my first article about porn. I hadn’t known the magnitude this devil had caused in the body of Christ. Many of those who get into porn or masturbation find themselves hooked through satanic addictions which they find quite difficult to come out. I advice those who find themselves hooked into this sin to :

  1. Realize that you are sinning against Christ. Mt 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
  2. Desire to be set free. You are bound. Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
  3. If possible share with a servant of God to be prayed for deliverance. You should be patient for the deliverance can be instantly felt or come gradually.
  4. Never lose hope. You may try to come out and fall back. This does not mean you have lost the battle or you have completely failed. Mic 7:8 Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
  5. You should resist the devil every time you feel an urge. Audibly command any demon of lust or sexual immorality to flee in Jesus name. Try it and you will find it working. However, you need to know that he will come back. The Bible records that satan promised to come back at an opportune time after failing in deceiving Jesus in the wilderness. Still resist him even if he comes 100 times. 1Pe 5:9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world.
  6. Wait upon the Lord. He will renew and strengthen you. Isa 40:31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
  7. Speak life, praise God, dont complain. You will always get what you constantly confess. Pr 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
  8. Fill your heart with the word. Let your heart be good soil for the word to grow. Take time to pray and fast. Drawing close to God has great power to transform your inner man. The closer you are to God the greater the desire to remain holy. Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
  9. Look at the crown of life kept before you. We are in a race, we must be careful in how we run so as to win the race before us and get the crown of life. Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.

Re 2:10 Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

  1. Destroy captivity and every house of bondage in prayer. Speak freedom. De 5:6 I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Declare what Christ has done to us. Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
  2. Make a conscious effort to leave.
  3. Put to death all manner of immorality and lust. Daily declare that you are putting them to death. Col 3:5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Key text
Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you–

How often do you pray for new believers? How often do you pray for your pastor, friend, spouse, child? Many a times we celebrate when one has come to Christ; angels too rejoice in heaven. Jesus compares the idea of salvation with a sower planting seeds which fall in different soils. He says thus:
Mt 13:3-9 And he spake to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went forth to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the birds came and devoured them: and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth: and straightway they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And others fell upon the thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them: and others fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He that hath ears, let him hear.
Any believer is a product of a seed sown (I hope and pray that the reader has been sowing, if not, do it – you must be productive). Different soils and different climatic conditions will play a great part in the growth of this believer regardless of his age and years in salvation.
Paul, writing to the Galatian church helps them understand the passion he has had to see the church growing in the things of God. He call the church “my little children”, meaning that he regards himself to be their father. He further informs them that he has been travailing for them until Christ be born in them. Writing to Thessalonian church he says that his greatest desire is that the church (his hope, joy & glory) be worthy before our Lord Jesus.
That same mind that was in Paul should be ours too. We need to pray consistently that Christ be formed in the life of our dear one. That in all their manners they may be transformed to the image of Christ. Begin it and you will see great difference in their lives. Before you complain about them, put them daily praying Pauline prayers for the church to them- that Christ shall be formed in them, that they may grow in love; that God will give them wisdom, understanding, revelation etc; that they will love the LORD above all else. Travail until this is birthed. Remember, God holds you accountable for those he places near your reach. I was recently jolted by this testimony by Kenneth Hagin where he describes an episode that happened in his life. He had been led to intercede for a certain man but refused to heed the direction the Spirit of God was leading him to. He always thought he would have time to pray for him. After some time the man died, and God showed him through a vision where the man was. He was in hell, screaming and wailing as fire burned him without ceasing. It was a terrifying experience to him indeed. Jesus pointed out to him that He held him (Kenneth) responsible for the death of the man! Reason? He refused to intercede for him. How guilty are we also about the same? May God help us.
Please take the challenge – intercede for Christ to be formed in others.

Let the scripture speak. stand in the gap
Isa 61:1-4 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion–to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified. They shall build up the ancient ruins, they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.
Isa 42:7 to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.
Isa 56:10 His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.
Isa 42:19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I send? who is blind as he that is at peace with me, and blind as Jehovah’s servant?
Isa 42:18 Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
Jg 6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor.”
Jer 1:12 Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”
(All emphasis is mine)
When God looks from above, what does he see? He sees people who are struggling. Just to pick the above examples, he sees people who are: blind, deaf, afflicted with diseases, broken hearted, poor, imprisoned, in darkness, bound, mourning, in ashes, faint, devasted for many generations, dumb, without knowledge among many others that may not be in the above scriptures.
Sad enough, this is the same picture that He sees in many Christians. This is primarily why Jesus came, He saw the above and came to set them free.
Whose duty is it to set the above free? One answer: Christians.
What is the state of His servants, the Christians? They are blind, deaf, without knowledge, have given up, belittlers of themselves, too lazy to anything hence end up sleeping. This is the picture too with many of His watchmen. Too sad, isn’t it? Don’t look at the Christian watchmen you see around, please look at yourself. How free are you, how clear is your sight?
What does God see in us? What He saw in Gideon and in Jeremiah. A mighty man, a mighty warrior. Sadly many have ended up becoming mighty worriers!
What does He expect of us? He wants us to partner with Him to build, raise, restore, repair and bring back to order what the enemy has destroy or tampered with.
We need to see situations the way Jesus sees them, and we ought to see ourselves the way He sees us. We should see our friends, children, family members, neighbours, teachers and leaders through His eyes.
What holds us back? Several things including fear, doubt, laziness, the cares of the world, a don’t care attitude, too busy and crowded days, ignorance etc
This pains Christ. He is looking for a people to arise and through prayer confront the issue. We need to fix the issues first spiritually before we do it physically. God still cries out as it was in the time of Ezekiel:
Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.(ASV)
Gideon never knew that he had all that was needed to confront the giants of his day, he had to get divine assurance. What more divine assurance do you need than this-

Are you standing in the gap?

Are you standing in the gap?

God is looking for a willing watchman, not a strong watchman. He qualifies the called, he does not call the qualified! Are you ready to confront the works of darkness you see around yourself and see God turning them round? Jesus’ heart bleeds to get someone who will stand up to be counted for the task, no matter his status or qualification.
Arise, God is banking greatly on you, will you heed the call?

For mankind to live victoriously, and reign with Christ eternally, he is expected to avoid pitfalls that may hinder his resolve. God’s word is the manual for us to follow. It states the do’s and dont’s in a simple yet forceful way. Reason? Going against it will plunge one in regretful situations.
There is great parallelism between God’s word and road signs traffic lights. Think for a minute what would happen to you if you ignored them. It would be catastrophic to sat the least. Similarly, when God’s word says ‘DON’T’, the results of going against it will be lethal and will hinder you from either ‘enjoying your everyday life’ or getting the ultimate prize. The do’s equally guide us to exploring more of God’s incomparable beauties of his blessings unto us. I cannot agree more with the psalmist when he says:
Psalms 119:11-12 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. Blessed [are] You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes.
and that
Psalms 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
My advise to each one of us is to love the word of God and live it. Closely let us go back to this manual every time we are making a decision. Study it and allow it to shape your actions and thinking, and you will never regret. Hate what God hates, love what he loves & celebrate what He celebrates.
Remember: He has created us in his own image, and this manual guides us to be as He is.

Possessing is a word that is severally used especially in the Old Testament. The children of Israel were to be given a land that didn’t belong to them, after they had miraculously been delivered from their oppressors in Egypt. As part of God’s promise, they were to inherit a “good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land they would sow without scarcity; a land whose stones [were] iron and out of whose hills you could dig copper” Deut 8:7-9.
The reason as to why God was to give them the land had nothing to do with their good deeds, but out of God’s love and compassion for them. He told them De 7:6-7 “For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. “The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples;”
When Joshua took over from Moses, God spoke to him thus: Jos 1:2-3 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them-the children of Israel. “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.”
It is also evident, from numerous accounts in the Bible that God’s people were not only to possess lands, but people, gates and cities as well. let the scripture speak:
Mic 1:15 I will yet bring unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah, him that shall possess thee: the glory of Israel shall come even unto Adullam.
Ob 1:17 But in mount Zion there shall be those that escape, and it shall be holy; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
Eze 36:12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.
Ob 1:20 And the captives of this host of the children of Israel, that are among the Canaanites, shall possess even unto Zarephath; and the captives of Jerusalem, that are in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South
Ge 22:17 that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.
For the children of Israel to possess these blessings, God directed them on how to go about it, how to maintain their possessions and the pitfalls to be wary of. First, they were not to be afraid of them, however impossible it seemed.
De 7:17-19 If thou shalt say in thy heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? hou shalt not be afraid of them: thou shalt well remember what Jehovah thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt; the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby Jehovah thy God brought thee out: so shall Jehovah thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.
Secondly, they were to conquer them and destroy them completely, lest they become snares to them. They were also not to intermarry with them
De 7:2-3 and when Jehovah thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them; neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
Thirdly, they were to destroy their items of worship, namely altars, sacred pillars, wooden images and carved images. De 7:5 But thus shall ye deal with them: ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.
They were also to keep God’s commands by observing them diligently. With this God would greatly bless them: De 7:15 And Jehovah will take away from thee all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, will he put upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
Moreover, God demanded from them not to covet any of the things used by the inhabitants of the land, they were not also to bring them to their houses for they would bring great ruin to them. De 7:25-26 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God. And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, and become a devoted thing like unto it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted (accursed) thing.
God promised them that He would drive away the inhabitants of the land. This would be done little by little until they were no more. God would hand them over to the Israelites to inflict defeat upon them.
De 7:22 And Jehovah thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
God’s power would go before them, to smite their enemies, even their powerbases: Zec 9:4 Behold, the Lord will dispossess her, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.
Wherever God takes his children, he expects them to possess. If they would not do this, then they would end up being ineffective in serving God. Child of God, God has raised you in your family, house, place of work, neighbourhood etc to possess. WHOEVER POSSESSES CONTROLS. You possess cities, gates, people, land etc and bring all under the subjection and authority of Jesus Christ. You arise and drive away whatever stands against the purposes of God. DON’T WHIMPER. ARISE AND POSSESS. Consider to use the prayers below to possess:
Start with praise and worship (take good time in this), repent and put on the full armour of God as in Eph 6:12 ff
Let the Lord arise and let his enemies be defeated in my life, in this institution, in  __ (fill as appropriate)
I praise you LORD for you make me possess blessings in your name
It is written that every place where the soles of my feet shall tread, I will possess
Arise o LORD in Jesus name, and drive away the wicked inhabitants of this ___________
Let the thunder of the living God destroy every wicked foundation, city, powerbase, and let the works of darkness here be destroyed in Jesus name. Smite them all by your power and bring their works to nothingness in Jesus name
Thank you father, for you go before me to give me possession of my blessings
I bind the strongman of this ________, and slay him with the sword of the Spirit in Jesus name
Let the gates of the enemy/wicked be destroyed now by fire in Jesus name
I renounce wicked covenants made in this ____, and I arise and destroy every altar and idols of the enemy completely in Jesus name
Arise o my God, and disposses my enemies in Jesus name. I arise and possess my _____ (name) in Jesus name, and I bring all to the subjection and authority of Jesus Christ.
I destroy every wicked authority that stands against my blessings in Jesus name
Let the angels of the living God, angels of fire, war, terror arise and drive away the enemies from my land in Jesus name.
I claim by faith and I receive my blessings in this ____ in Jesus name
Let every accursed item in this ______ be consumed by fire in Jesus name
let the blood of Jesus speak blessings in this ______

Let every counter attack be destroyed by the fire and lightening of  God in Jesus name
I arise and rule my possession in Jesus name. I speak blessings, peace, healing, restoration, the fear of the Lord, the glory of God and the kingdom of God (name any other blessing you wish to have) in this _____
Let the wisdom of the LORD guide me as I rule in this ______ in Jesus name.
Take time to thank God for prayers answered. Repeat these prayers until the Spirit of God leads you otherwise. Declare it, claim it. If you are a leader, you must possess those under your authority in Jesus name. There is no other name greater than that of Jesus. Declare what you wish done on Jesus name. You will be shocked to realize how the wicked rulers have been possessing those they lead through witchcraft and evil powers. Your power is greater than theirs. Be blessed

never give up
Let the scripture speak
Lu 18:7 And will not God do right in the cause of his saints, whose cries come day and night to his ears, though he is long in doing it? (Bible in Basic English)
Lu 18:7 And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? (Revised Standard Version)
In his teaching on perseverance in Prayer, Jesus taught of this widow who troubled a judge severally in her search for justice. The Judge had very little regard for her, but had to give in to do away with her noise (to have peace) as she constantly came to him. Jesus poses the above question, which in essence implies that if we don’t tire, but continue to call on the Lord, God will meet our needs.
I don’t know the present state of the person reading this, but whether in this boat or not, it will happen to you once, when you’ll feel like you want to give up. Continue calling upon his name day and night, and give praise always for your redeemer is coming with solution to your problem. Some habits are very difficult to break, some problem do not seem to have any solution at hand, some situation may seem too tough; yet we have the ancient of days, who is with us and who gives us victory. Trust in God, don’t give up, your help is on the way. Take these words to God as you pray and thank God that he is working on your issue.
Don’t complain. Some people start quarreling God, asking him why he is not coming speedily to help, others wonder what they have done to God for Him to leave them in the den of lions. In all these situations, remember God is more concerned about your issues than you do. Let us all wait Him in hope and in faith.
